I'm new here, just networking in as many ways as I can. I'm an artist who is looking for as many possibilities of creating as I can. I'm always brainstorming and working on something. You can see my work at http://benanderson.ning.com/

Oh god I hate writing bios. Crap about me:

1. I'm mentally ill, but getting better.
2. I'm a textibitionist.
3. I paint.
4. I make stuff.
5. I have two kids and husband, two dogs and a cat with no tail.
6. I'm agoraphobic...but getting better.

Ummmmmmmm, that's all I can think of. A lot of you already know me so I feel like I'd be repeating myself if I went into my "story" so I'll skip that part.

I'm just a pretty chill person who makes art and likes the internet way too much. The best way to get to know me is to go to my site and explore: SunnyCrittenden.com

A bit about me. I spent my son's growing up years as a stay at home mom and absolutely loved it. He went to a Catholic grade school and I spend hours working and volunteering there. I used to make greeting cards and inspirational art for the teachers at the school and spend 5 years being a room mom, a volunteer librarian, and an art teacher for the 4th graders. (All as volunteer work.) During this time I also was a Eucharistic minister at the Catholic church next door. I loved it! The summer that my son would enter the 6th grade we moved, just he and I, 40 miles away to Olympia, the state capitol. He LOVED public school and began to flourish. I entered college and took medical classes to become a medical assistant. As life goes, our plans don't always come to fruition. I actually met my husband while in college... (and I hate to reveal my age .. lets just say hot flashes are a part of my daily routine ~ okay okay, I'm 46-years-young!) I've since married, my son's in his first year of college and I'm doing art on a daily basis with the growing desire to sell it. I was born with a box of crayons in my hand and as I've grown the crayons have morphed into different mediums. I'm not afraid to try new mediums and take online art classes!

Some trivial details about myself are, I love mocha, pink, lime green, and purple. Red wines are my weakness along with healthy foods. I love the TV show House.. and I truly "get" him! I enjoy quite time alone and semi noisy time with those I love. I'm careful with my money which allows me the luxuries that I've listed and more. I can never have to many art supplies or too many "pink" items. My "studio" is in a corner of our dining room which is shared with my techy husband. My side is slowly turning lime green out of respect for his manhood about pink... but one day! =) If you have any thing you'd like to know about me please feel free to drop me a line here or come to my blog at www.blog.tammysstudio.com I can't wait to start some friendships here. =)

Well, my name is Julie and I've never joined an ning before...in fact I stumbled across this wonderful place purely by default and thought, "what the heck?!" I have a place for my stuff here which I try to keep updated, although I must admit to being a technophobe and unable to suss out the likes of flikr, etc just yet to display my creativeness properly.

I dabble in altered/mixed media art and design scrapbook pages for a UK shop and online store, and inbetween I have just upped sticks and emigrated from the UK to Australia with my husband and 3 kids. I haven't had chance to play since arriving as I've been busy making a house a home - so this group is going to be my best therapy and kick-up-the-ass to get my art back where it belongs :)

I look forward to getting to know you all x

Hello, my name is Zach Hill and I am 25 year old mixed media artist. I have been a musician since the age of 12, and a poet/writer since 18. But I have only been a visual artists for around 2-3 years. That being said I cannot imagine myself doing anything else with my life at this point. I want to be painting on the day I die.

I am also on Gary Reef's ning site, but you can find me here as well: www.myspace.com/zacharyhillart

I look forward to learning and sharing with and from you

Hi everyone! I'm Cindy from over at www.thevintagevignette.blogspot.com I already know quite a few of you and am looking forward to meeting you all! The groups look great, the ideas look great, and I am waiting on pins and needles for the first class on color theory.
Marylin Comment by Marylin on May 15, 2009 at 12:20pm
Hello creative people!

I'm so happy to be here, the atmosphere is already so friendly and down-to-earth - exactly what I would want in a community.

I'm not good with telling people about myself... I'm a writer. I have a website (in sore need of updating) http://marylin.ca. I run a local writing group in my city. I've published one book and have another one in the works to come out by the end of this year.

I'm an... artist... I say that with trepidation because I'm not sure how true it is. The visual artist side of me only began "working" about 5-6 months ago, and by "working," I mean it was flowing easily when in the past it was always too difficult to get past the need to not make mistakes and the need to make a "masterpiece" or nothing at all.

So I don't know if I have the right to call myself artist - literary artist, yes, but visual artist? God that might be subjective... I WISH I could say that. Maybe budding artist? Amateur artist?

Ok enough rambling... I'm 27 and live in Hamilton, which is a very big art city but is really shitty at showing that off (for some reason Hamilton enjoys keeping its good points hidden).

I have a blog that I'm sure you can learn more than you wanted to know about me http://marylinwashere.blogspot.com lol and you can find me on a few other ning communities :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing this place grow and I promise to put up photos of my art attempts as soon as I can (they were all stored on another ning that I am no longer a member of so they are gone so I just need time to go through disks and also do some scanning).

Thanks so much for doing this Lisa, you're making a lot of people very happy :)
